My wife Judy and I shared a life filled with love, family, faith, and photography. For more than sixty years, she stood beside me—not only as my wife, but as my quiet encourager, traveling companion, and greatest supporter. Together we attended camera clubs, photography conferences, and built friendships that lasted a lifetime.
Last August, I lost Judy after her battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Watching someone you love slowly slip away is one of the most difficult journeys a family can face. Alzheimer’s takes memories, conversations, and moments that once seemed impossible to lose. But it can never take away love.
After her passing, I began writing a memoir titled Because She Asked. The title comes from a simple moment many years ago when Judy encouraged me to share my photography with others. That small question changed the course of my life and led to decades of friendships, service, and experiences in the photographic community.
This book is my way of honoring her memory and preserving the story of the life we built together.
A portion of the profits from Because She Asked will be donated to support Alzheimer’s research and care. My hope is that this project will not only celebrate Judy’s life, but also help other families facing the same heartbreaking journey.
If you choose to donate, thank you. Your kindness helps keep Judy’s spirit alive and supports the ongoing fight against Alzheimer’s disease. losing my loved one to Alzheimer's, I knew I couldn't just stand by. I wanted to honor their memory in a way that would make a difference. That's why I joined the fight to end this devastating disease by creating this tribute page in their name.
