Fighting Alzheimer’s in His Honor
My dad was one of the most present, joyful, and big-hearted people you could ever meet. He never missed a moment that mattered from my cheerleading competitions to every baseball, softball, basketball, and football game. He cheered at dance recitals, Nutcracker performances, and horse shows with the same pride in his heart every time. If it was about family, he was there. He was more than a father, he was Popi. He lifted us up with his laugh, his humor (yes, even the Popi jokes), his pride in his grandchildren, and his love of sports especially NASCAR and the New York Yankees. His home was full of joy, stories, and laughter even when he explained why racing was far more than just making left turns. But Alzheimer's changed everything. This cruel disease didn't just take his memories it slowly took his presence, piece by piece, long before his body left us. We missed him in stages, grieving the dad we knew while still holding onto those fleeting moments of recognition and connection. Loving him through Alzheimer's was heartbreaking, exhausting, and painfully unfair. I pray every day for a cure so no other family has to live with the devastation this disease leaves in its wake. That's why this tribute page matters. Every donation made here helps fund the Alzheimer's Association's work from research toward better treatments and a cure, to support and care for families navigating this disease every day. When you donate in memory of Popi, you are helping fuel hope for families everywhere struggling to hold onto the people they love.
Thank you for honoring his memory.
