Help End Vascular Dementia NOW!

Dr. Mukesh P. Luhar was a brilliant physician, loving husband, caring father, and friend to all. Over his 75 years of life, he strove to uplift the needy, model progressive ideas, and elevate those around him to greater heights. Dr. Luhar passed away on February 26th, 2026, following a 5-year progression of Vascular Dementia. Unlike Alzheimer's Disease, which is caused by abnormal protein buildup and reports a slow progression, Vascular Dementia is caused by reduced blood flow to the brain (often via stroke or small vessel disease) and notorious for both sudden onset and sharp decline. Dr. Luhar himself would say "a mind is terrible thing to waste". And today, reliable, high efficacy dementia therapies are still few and far between. A meaningful treatment was not available to preserve the intelligence and wisdom of Dr. Luhar; however, that hope is not lost for the +100,000 people diagnosed with vascular dementia every year. Your contribution to the Alzheimer's Association directly helps fund and support vascular dementia research and treatment identification. Your support will help realize Dr. Luhar's greatest wish -- making the world a healthier, smarter, and kinder place.
