For Mom

I am skiing and raising funds in memory of my mother Sandy Milliken who died of Alzheimer's in 2013.  Even as she was impacted by Alzheimer's for the last several years of her life, she continued to be kind, funny and thoughtful - only thinking of her family, friends and others.  She volunteered to be part of treatment experiment without ever knowing if she was in the control or treatment group, traveling to Yale every month for treatments and scans and even contributing after her passing by donating her brain to research.   By participating in this event, I've committed to raising awareness and funds to advance the care and support efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association®.

Currently, more than 6 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease, and that number is expected to grow to nearly 13 million by 2050. Our future is at risk, and we must come together to change the course of this disease.
