In Loving Memory Stanley Schleider

We remember Stanley, Stan, Schleider with love and gratitude for the wonderful life he shared with us. Known as Uncle Sonny to his nieces and nephews and Paco to his grandchildren—a nickname given to him by his first grandchild, who couldn't quite say “Grandpa”—he was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He and his wife, Lu, shared 68 years of marriage and raised two children, Marcie and Andrew. An accomplished painter, pianist, New York City Marathon runner, and lifelong believer in staying active, Stan approached life with curiosity, determination, and a wonderful sense of independence.In the final months of his life, Stan suffered from vascular dementia. In his memory, our family has chosen to support the Alzheimer's Association and its work in dementia research, care, and support. As we gather to celebrate his life, we invite those who wish to honor him to make a donation. Thank you for helping us remember Stan and the wonderful life he shared with us.
