In Loving Memory of Our Titi Carmen
Today, I honor the life of my Titi Carmen, who recently passed away after a long and difficult journey with Alzheimer’s. While her memory may have faded over the years, the love, laughter, and joy she brought into our lives never did.
Titi was more than just an aunt—she was my mom’s “mini me,” always by her side and always up for the next adventure. When she lived with us in Florida, she went everywhere we went. Whether it was running errands, family outings, or just a simple drive to Chili's or Pollo Tropical, she was right there—smiling, giggling, and lighting up the car with her presence.
She had a sweetness that could melt any heart. She greeted everyone with warmth, even as her memory began to slip away. Her joy was contagious, her laugh unforgettable, and her presence deeply comforting.
One moment that always stands out to me happened on a day that I joined Mom and Titi at Zumba. She was watching some ducks waddle by and suddenly burst out laughing. I asked her what was so funny, and she said, “They walk like me when I’m dancing Zumba!” That was Titi—finding humor and happiness in the simplest things, making all of us laugh when we least expected it.
Like my dear cousin said---"Alzheimer’s slowly took pieces of her, but it never took her light." And now, we carry that light forward in her memory.
If you’ve ever had a loved one touched by Alzheimer’s, you know how painful it is to watch someone fade. But you also know how important it is to fight back—with love, with research, and with hope.
That’s why I’ve set up a Personal Fundraising Page to honor Titi's life. Every donation supports crucial Alzheimer’s research, resources for families, and ultimately—hope for a cure.
If you feel moved, please consider donating in her memory. Let’s fight this disease with the same spirit and sweetness that Titi gave us every day.
We love you, Titi. Thank you for every giggle, every smile, and every moment.
