Stan was a great brother in law and ex-brother in law.
Whenever I was in the Philadelphia area, I made a point of us meeting up and we had many lunches at the White Dog Cafe (a very appropriate place for his Shiva).
I can personally attest to him being Caring, Thoughtful, Supportive and Courageous.
Caring: Given the tragic death of his nephew Howard, he emphatically encouraged me to get checked for a related medical condition that I had.
Thoughtful: I'd expressed my frustrations in my retirement efforts to teach STEM to minority teens. He motivated me by assuring me that, despite the difficulties, I was changing some lives ultimately for the better,
Supportive and Courageous: He had to be to have the guts to let me (at the time a young Air Force Officer and novice pilot) fly him, my sister, and his daughter to the Jersey shore for dinner at night in a single engine plane.
Godspeed Stan.....whether your spirit is in the Biblical Heaven or relocated to another planet in the vast universe, I hope you and brothers Saul and Irv are somehow shooting hoops with whatever appendages you have in your next, well deserved, existence.
Respectfully,
Steve Eisenberg
