About Washburn Challenge

part of Do What You Love to End ALZ™

The Washburn Challenge is part of Do What You Love to End ALZ (formerly The Longest Day), a signature fundraising event of the Alzheimer’s Association, to support the pursuit of legislative initiatives on behalf of those affected, invest in research to find a cure, draw attention to Alzheimer's and dementia, and provide support to those afflicted by this disease as well as their caregivers.

We are so grateful for this community and the continued enthusiasm and support of the Washburn Challenge. So many loves ones have been affected, but hope is on the horizon, primarily because of organizations like the Alzheimer’s Association. We are now in - The Age of Treatment. Like Cancer decades ago, there is hope, but much work to be done. Substantial progress is being made. There are two treatments now that give people more time — and more in the pipeline than ever before. This continues to be a pivotal time for the Alzheimer's Association. THANK YOU for your participation and support!

The Washburn Challenge has raised over $1,000,000 since it began in 2017. Last year we were ranked as the #3 Longest Day event in the country, raising $265,609!!

Register today and get started on your fundraising early! We ask each participant to set a $1,000 goal so together we can continute to make a significant impact and reach our goal of $250,000 to fight this horrible disease. As with every Washburn Challenge, every dollar raised goes directly to the Alzheimer’s Association to fund their mission. Let's go!!!

The Washburn Challenge is one of many fundraising activities taking place around the globe in support of Do What You Love to End ALZ: the do-it-yourself fundraising event of the Alzheimer's Association. People pick any activity and date to invite friends, family and communities to participate and donate. It's the perfect way to honor someone you love by doing something you love - like hiking!
