Running 50 Miles to Raise Money for Alzheimer's
By Jason Epstein
I am running 50 miles on my birthday and to raise money for the Alzheimer's Association
One year ago, I lost my mom, Iris Epstein, to Alzheimer's Disease. Prior to her decline in health due to Alzheimer's, she was an avid hiker, exercise enthusiast, and teacher. She volunteered at the local library, teaching English as a second language, led her community's hiking group, and always tried to live life to its fullest.
She also loved spending time with her grandsons and her cats. She was a beloved mother, grandmother ("Nana"), wife, and sister, and we all miss her very much.
Following in her footsteps of being passionate about exercise, I am an avid runner. I have a milestone birthday coming up at the end of January, and will be running a 50-mile ultramarathon to commemorate it. I know my mom would be proud of me.
I am also using this run as a fundraising opportunity for the Alzheimer's Association. Help me pay tribute to my mom and also help this organization in their work to support the more than 7 million Americans living with Alzheimer's today, nearly 12 million unpaid caregivers, and nearly 13 million Americans projected to develop Alzheimer's by 2050.
From the Association's free 24/7 Helpline (800.272.3900) to compassionate support groups to promising new research, your donation will go to work in the fight against Alzheimer's right away.
Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity.

What you are doing to remember your mom is laudable.
