We're fundraising for Dick Fraser, Marie Martin, Lyne Hale, and Nancy Van Meter
Our team (Kate, Brian, Paul, Amy, Hank, and Tom) is back together for the 2025 Camel Hump Challenge. We are raising money for the Alzheimer's Association, a wonderful organization that accelerates global research, drives risk reduction and early detection, and maximizes quality care and support for Alzheimer’s and Dementia.
Most of us are at the age where we care for our parents and eventually watch helplessly as their health declines. All of us have had challenges with parents this past year.
Sadly, Brian lost his dad this year after a battle with Alzheimer's. He gave a touching eulogy sharing the life of Dad/Dick/Popi and reminded us all how much this disease robs every generation. Paul’s dad is in a retirement community and is struggling with dementia and other health issues.
Amy’s dad had a concussion a couple years ago, and his memory has never fully recovered.
Hank’s mother-in-law passed just before Christmas.
Tom lost his second mom (closest childhood friend’s mom), Marie Martin to Alzheimer's a few years ago. His father in-law passed away last summer.
Kate is Tom’s daughter, and her parents are currently doing fine. (She is plenty busy caring for her 1-year-old son.) Her grandmother-in-law is 99 and suffering from Alzheimer’s. Kate sees a difference every time they visit her in CT.
Dementia has affected our larger community of friends as well.

We will celebrate our parents during the Camel Hump Challege, a 13-mile wilderness ski touring adventure. There will be many challenges and memories, but more importantly, the money we raise will help fight this nasty disease and provide care for those that struggle with its effects.
