I'm fundraising for Marie Martin, Dick Fraser, Lynn, Hale, and Nancy Van Metre
Marie was my second mom growing up. She was a grandmother to my children. Alzheimer's robbed her of her golden years.
My teammate Brian Fraser lost his dad, Dick Fraser, to Alzheimer's the day after Christmas. Brian gave a touching eulogy encapsulating how this disease affects the entire family.
Many good friend have also lost parents to Alzheimer's/Dementia. Carolyn Berenson lost her mother, Nancy Van Meter, to vascular dementia this year. Heather Wheeler lost her mother, Lynn Hale, to dementia in 2024
It is such a brutal disease.
I'll be participating in my Camel Hump Challenge with my daughter Kate and some good friends. We have committed to raising awareness and funds to advance the care and support efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association®.
Currently, more than 6 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease, and that number is expected to grow to nearly 13 million by 2050. Our future is at risk, and we must come together to change the course of this disease.
