I'm fundraising for ….
Jan Gray was a loving mother, grandma, and friend. 9 years ago my grandma was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s diseases. Knowing her diagnosis never dulled her spirit or her compassion. Every day my grandma lived with this disease with grace and dignity. She continued to be an active member in her community, a caring grandma showing up to any and every grandchild event, and a loving wife to my grandfather John Sr. This past May we lost our “Miss Daisy” to this debilitating disease. Every day Jan lived with this disease, she did not let it define her. She used it to bring awareness, be more present and patient, and show us all how to make the best of any story. As she would always say…
"If you don’t like the story, then it is not the end."
While Jan’s story has come to an end, the fight towards a cure for Alzheimer’s has not. I am running the TCS NYC Marathon with the Alzheimer’s Association for Jan and all men, women, and families affected by Alzheimer’s. Together we can work towards a cure and ground breaking research.
Currently, more than 6 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease, and that number is expected to grow to nearly 13 million by 2050. Our future is at risk, and we must come together to change the course of this disease.
Please support my efforts by making a donation. All funds raised benefit the Alzheimer's Association and its work to enhance care and support programs and advance research toward methods of treatment, prevention, and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's disease. Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer’s disease!
