In loving memory of Freda

Freda Amanda Cobb Behm of Grayslake, Illinois, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026, surrounded by her daughters. Freda was born on July 26, 1951 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She grew up on a farm in Lumber Bridge, North Carolina, received a bachelors in Zoology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and an MBA from DePaul University. She worked most of her career in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries. Freda loved being a mom. She was deeply spiritual and spent much of her life growing in the church. She had a lifelong love of learning and travel, and found peace in long walks and a good book. Her daughters Anna, Amanda, and Andrea are setting up this donation page to channel that legacy of learning and research into finding a cure for Alzheimer's and related dementias, and to supporting families who walk this path. Mom lived with an Alzheimer's diagnosis from 2020, never losing the remarkable independent spirit and tenacity that made her Freda, and sharing bright moments and gentle laughs with all who joined her along the way.
