A Life of Love, Laughter, and Grace - Beyond Alzheimer’s

A Beautiful Life, Full of Grace.

Jan Simons was a woman who found joy in the simple, quiet moments of life. She was both goofy and modest, the kind of person who could make you laugh without ever trying, yet blush if too much attention came her way. She had a heart full of love for our Father, Jesus Christ, and her faith guided her through every season of life.

When Alzheimer’s entered her life, it slowly began to take pieces of her world, but it never took her warmth or her fierce spirit. Even on her longest days, you could still feel her love in the way she’d reach out to her family and friends just to chat and be able to feel that sense of belonging again. Her family was an extremely crucial part of her life, and she enjoyed long, or short depending on the day, conversations with those she held near and dear to her heart.

Though this disease may have dimmed her memories, it could never erase the love she gave or the lessons she taught us. She reminded us to find joy in small things, to laugh even when life feels heavy, to hold yourself and others accountable, and to hold tight to faith when the path grows uncertain.

Jan’s story doesn’t end with Alzheimer’s; it continues in every life she touched. Her mind may have forgotten, but her love remains; deeply and forever.

Knowing Jan’s desire to assist others in gaining additional knowledge and understanding around this awful disease, David, Justin, & Anne knew that they couldn’t just stand by. We wanted to honor Jan’s memory in a way that would make a difference. That's why we not only pursued a research study case on her brain with the Mayo Clinic, we also are joining the fight to end this devastating disease by creating this tribute page in her name.

By taking this step, we are raising funds to support the critical work of the Alzheimer's Association: providing care and support for families, advancing promising research, and offering a lifeline through their free 24/7 Helpline (800.272.3900). Every dollar raised helps ensure that no one faces Alzheimer's alone.

We would be so grateful if you would make a memorial gift in Jan’s name. It would mean a lot to Jan and those facing this relentless disease. A future without Alzheimer's is out there. Let's get there, together.

Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity.
