My husband, Rob, was diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment, Alzheimer's pathology, in April 2024 at the age of 58. As you would expect, it was a life altering moment. Professionally, Rob was a control systems engineer who enjoyed the challenge of leveraging new technologies for common purposes. His ability to understand and manipulate technology was the first, most obvious skill he lost.
Shortly after diagnosis, Rob began receiving and continues to receive Lecanemab infusions. The potential of Lecanemab to slow the progression of Alzheimer's Disease offered Rob tremendous hope for his future. With that hope he found purpose. Rob has become active in dementia care advocacy and support, welcoming opportunities to discuss his experiences living with Alzheimer's.
This tribute page in Rob's honor is part of our ongoing effort to advocate for and support the more than 6 million Americans living with Alzheimer's and the 11 million family and friends who provide their unpaid care. Funds raised by the Alzheimer's Association made treatments like Lecanemab possible. Continued funding will help find a cure and help to provide care and support for families. Every dollar raised helps ensure that no one faces Alzheimer's alone.
A gift in Rob's honor would mean a lot to Rob, me and the 6 million others facing this relentless disease.
Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity.
