New year, new organization, SAME me! I will be running the NYC Marathon this November with #TeamAlz !
I want to thank you in advance for your interest in supporting the Alzheimer’s Association. It is an organization that helps patients and their families/friends access resources within their community when they receive this diagnosis.
My Grandpa Denis was diagnosed with this terrible disease in the 2000s, at a time when there was nothing to offer patients for treatment.
Currently, more than 6 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease, and that number is expected to grow to nearly 13 million by 2050. Our future is at risk, and we must come together to change the course of this disease. In the last 10 years, there are has been significant progress in research and bringing some medications to market (to slow progression) — but there is still no cure for Alzheimer’s Disease.
By participating in the 2026 NYC Marathon, I've committed to raising awareness and funds to advance the care, support, and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association®!
Every dollar donated will enhance care and support programs and advance research toward methods of treatment, prevention, and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's disease!!
**If you are able to donate to this cause, let me know the initials of someone you know & love who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or another disease. These people deserve to be fought for — I'll add their initials to the shirt I'll be wearing on race day and will fight in their honor! :)
