By participating in this event, I've committed to raising awareness and funds to advance the care, support, and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association®.

Currently, more than 6 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease, and that number is expected to grow to nearly 13 million by 2050. Our future is at risk, and we must come together to change the course of this disease.

Please support my efforts by making a donation. All funds raised benefit the Alzheimer's Association and its work to enhance care and support programs and advance research toward methods of treatment, prevention, and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's disease.  Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer’s disease!

Why I'm Running

On November 1st, I'll be running the TCS New York City Marathon with the Alzheimer's Association. I'm running it for my grandma.
She lived with me my entire life growing up, and she raised me as much as anyone did. She drove me everywhere when I was a kid. She was at every soccer game and every lacrosse game, in a folding chair on the sideline. She was my biggest supporter before I'd done anything worth supporting.
A couple of years ago, she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Watching it happen to someone who has given you everything is a particular kind of hard. There's no version of this where I get to fix it for her. What I can do is put in the work, show up, and try to make sure fewer families have to go through what ours is going through.
So I'm running 26.2 miles, which is the easy part. The hard part is what she's facing every day.
Every dollar donated goes to the Alzheimer's Association: care and support for families living with this right now, a 24/7 helpline for people at 3 a.m. who don't know what to do next, and research toward the day this diagnosis doesn't mean what it means today.
If you've ever had someone like my grandma in your life, you know why I'm doing this. Any amount helps, and I'm grateful for all of it.
