My grandma, Susie Lott, has always been the heart of our family. She is the woman who never forgot a birthday, how to make someone smile, who can turn an ordinary day into a celebration, and who makes every single person who walks through her door feel seen, cherished, loved, and as always well-fed.Â
At just 55, she was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's disease and is currently in a memory care home living happily. Watching someone so sharp, funny, and full of life slowly lose pieces of her memory has been heartbreaking for everyone who loves her. This diagnosis has changed our family’s daily life, our conversations, and our future plans, but it has not changed who she is to us – our Susie, Mom, Grandma, and friend.
I created this tribute page to honor her courage and the love she has poured into our family, and to support the work of the Alzheimer’s Association. Donations made in Susie’s honor help fund care and support for families like ours, advance research toward better treatments and a cure, and keep vital resources like the 24/7 Helpline available for those who feel scared and alone in this journey.
If you’re able, we would be deeply grateful for a gift in honor of my grandma, Susie. Your generosity means more support for families living with Alzheimer’s today and more hope for a future where no one has to face this disease.
Thank you for reading our story, for keeping Susie in your thoughts, and for standing with us in this fight ❤️🌻🦋
