Washburn Challenge

Help our team reach our goal!

My team is participating in the Washburn Challenge this June because Alzheimer’s has touched each of our lives. We’ll be biking 22 miles along the Shining Sea Bike Path and kayaking 7 miles out to Washburn Island and back to raise critical funds and awareness for the Alzheimer’s Association.

You can support us by joining our team and fundraising or by making a donation to help the Alzheimer’s Association continue supporting families, advocating for their needs, and advancing research.

Why We Participate

More than seven million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s, supported by nearly 13 million caregivers who provide unpaid care, often at great personal cost. This year, Alzheimer’s and dementia care is expected to cost the U.S. $409 billion, underscoring the enormous impact of this disease.

While there have been encouraging advances in diagnosis and treatment, there is still a long road ahead. We take on this challenge for everyone affected, raising funds and awareness to support families and move us closer to a world without Alzheimer’s.

Since 2017, the Washburn Challenge has raised over $1.22 million. Together, we can keep that momentum going and show those facing Alzheimer’s they are not alone.
