In loving memory of Linda Pooschke - Her light will forever shine

Alzheimer's is a horrible disease. It is a disease that takes away your memories first and then stripes you of all the people who love you. It leaves you a shell of your former self, dependent on strangers to take care of you. You are left frightened and feeling so alone. Anyone who has had a loved one or someone they know with this disease, knows how hard it is to watch that person go through it. It is a helpless feeling. Our beautiful Linda was able to touch everyone she met with her kind soul, smile and the best hugs in the world. When we found out she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, we decided to get involved by doing The Walk in her honor. When we did The Walk, we wore shirts that said: The Devil whispered in my ear, "you're not strong enough to withstand the storm." Today I whispered in the Devil's ear, "I am the storm." Alzheimer's Warrior. A true warrior in every sense of the word, she courageously battled for 10 years. Linda's light is guiding us as we take up the mantle & become the storm.
