After losing my loved one to Alzheimer's, I knew I couldn't just stand by. I wanted to honor their memory in a way that would make a difference. That's why I joined the fight to end this devastating disease by creating this tribute page in their name.
Marceline Ann Horn Proctor passed away in Pleasant Hill, Tennessee, at Uplands Village, peacefully following a long struggle with Alzheimer's. Her disease does not define her. We will remember her for the kind, loving, and remarkable person she was.
Marcy was born on January 28, 1949, in Dayton, Ohio, daughter of the late Herbert & Virginia (Schmidt) Horn. Marceline is survived by her husband Brian Proctor, Jill (Randy) James, daughter, Doc (Jennifer) Proctor, son, Grandchildren, Haven (David) Prins, Dominic Delgado, and Aleister Watkins. Great-grandchildren, Weylin, Laelette & Olin.
She was preceded in death by her son Bart Proctor, sister Charlene Roberts, and brothers Wayne & Robert Horn.
Known to most as Marcy, she attended school in Dayton, Ohio. Marcy & Brian wed in 1974 in Ohio and moved to Big Rapids, Michigan. Marcy worked at West Michigan Credit Union in Big Rapids for 20 years as a teller and branch manager. She also ran books for her husband, Brian’s woodworking company (Proctor’s Wood Specialties), and managed family rental properties. While in Tennessee, Marcy worked for Hughes Realty for 1 year as a Listing & Closing Representative. Then worked for Shirley King at Atlas Realty for 5 years, who became a very close and dear friend to Marcy.
Marcy & Brian moved to Crossville, Tennessee in 2006 in search of a warmer climate than Michigan. Marcy was known for her knack for numbers and the ability to stretch a penny further than most. She enjoyed reading books, spending time with family, scoping out a great deal (couponing), and especially loved disc golfing, tennis, and vacationing with her family.
Marcy made the selfless decision to donate her body to the Genesis Whole Body Donation Program in Memphis, Tennessee, for the advancement of science.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Marcy Proctor. Contributions can be made at https://events.alz.org/fundraisers/jilljames/in-loving-memory-of-marcy.
