Celebrating the Life and Memory of Goofy Granny

My Goofy Granny was my first best friend. She was one of the people who knew me better than almost anyone and always made me feel like I could overcome whatever was in front of me.Growing up with my own medical challenges, I sometimes saw them as barriers. Goofy Granny never did. She saw them as a gift. She was my biggest protector, my personal cheerleader, and always the first person to check on me after anything I went through. When Alzheimer’s became part of Goofy Granny’s life, I watched someone who had always been so strong face a fight that changed both her life and our family’s. In 2023, after her battle with the disease, we lost Goofy Granny.I still carry the weight of losing her, but I also carry everything she taught me. She taught me to appreciate the people I love, to be present for the moments I have with them, and to never take those moments for granted.I created this tribute because I want to turn something painful into something meaningful. I want to help other families who are going through what my family went through — families who are watching someone they love fight Alzheimer’s and need support, hope, and resources along the way. If raising money can help another family feel less alone, support important research, or help give someone more time with the person they love, then I know I am doing something Goofy Granny would be proud of.Goofy Granny will always be my first best friend, my biggest cheerleader, and a part of who I am. I love you, Goofy Granny. 💜 A future without Alzheimer's is out there. Let's get there, together.  Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity.
