Third Time's a Charm

In 2024, I ran my first marathon for the Alzheimer’s Association in New York City. Running through the five boroughs for a cause so close to my heart was hands down the best day of my life. So much so that the day after the race, I signed up to run the 2025 Chicago Marathon with Alzheimer's Association.  The diagnosis of Alzheimer’s not only affects the patient, but it also affects their children, spouse, friends, and family so much more. That is why I am both honored and thrilled to be running the 2026 NYC Marathon with the Alzheimer's Association!

When I was in elementary school, my grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. Stealing her life out from under her, I watched this disease slowly strip the best parts away from one of the strongest women I've ever met. With young eyes, I watched my mom relentlessly give everything she could to make my grandmother's final years the best they could be. But Alzheimer's has no remorse. Nobody is ever ready to watch their loved ones deteriorate, forgetting the faces of their family members whom they spent most of their lives providing for. I am running the 2026 NYC Marathon to support all of the work the Alzheimer's Association does day in and day out, striving to find a cure for this insufferable and disheartening disease. I cannot wait to return to the streets of NYC decked out in purple!
