Running the New York City Marathon to help end Alzheimer’s
This year, on November 1, 2026, I’m honored to run in the world famous New York City Marathon. I will be running with a deep purpose as part of the Alzheimer’s Association Team. I’ve set a personal fundraising goal of $5,000 to support this cause and make a meaningful impact in the fight against this terrible disease.
My race will be run in honor of my dear Grandmother Amanda Thoe who lost her life to Alzheimer’s in 2002. My grandmother was an incredible woman, and Alzheimer’s slowly robbed her and us of enjoying the last decade of her life.
I’m very honored to have been chosen to support the Alzheimer’s Association, which advances research, supports families, and works toward a future without Alzheimer’s. Their impact is powerful, funding research and providing vital support for patients and caregivers. This gives me hope that we can one day stop this disease and save others from the heartbreak my family, and so many others, suffered.
When marathon training gets hard—and it always does—I will remind myself that the miles I choose to run are nothing compared to the challenges families living with Alzheimer's disease.
If you’d like to support me on this journey, I’d be incredibly grateful. Every donation helps fund research, provide resources, and bring us closer to a future where no family has to watch a loved one disappear piece by piece. You can donate at this site.
Thank you for supporting this mission and helping turn every mile into hope.
