NYC Marathon

I'm fundraising to end Alzheimer's Disease.

This year I was personally touched by Alzheimer’s when it took the life of a beloved family member who was both a mentor and father figure to me. It took the mother of one of my closest friends, the father of my partner at work, and the father of another close friend was recently diagnosed and is at the beginning of his journey. Everywhere I turn, I hear another story of a loved one, a friend, or a colleague that's been touched by this disease that frequently robs people of their dignity long before the merciful end finally arrives. For decades, Alzheimer’s has been a disease with no cure, but we're at a new inflection point in our battle against it and on the doorstep of transforming Alzheimer’s from a fatal, terminal decline into a managable, preventable chronic condition.

On November 1, I'm running the New York City Marathon to honor the memory of those we've lost and those that are currently on their journey.  I'm asking for your support in the fight to win the battle against this terrible disease that touches millions of people every year. Every dollar you give goes toward care, support, and research — so that fewer families have to watch this disease try to take someone they love.

Currently, more than 6 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease, and that number is expected to grow to nearly 13 million by 2050. Our future is at risk, and we must come together to change the course of this disease.

Please support my efforts by making a donation. All funds raised benefit the Alzheimer's Association and its work to enhance care and support programs and advance research toward methods of treatment, prevention, and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's disease.  Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer’s disease!

My Updates

18 mile Monday

This morning I ran 18 miles. This lake is a 9 mile loop and I did it twice. The weather was beautiful and I'm appreciating the cooler temps as I head into my peak training weeks. This past week I logged 54 miles and this coming week I should hit 56 miles. 110 miles in two weeks! My legs feel strong and I'm so excited to be just a few weeks away from the starting line.
