My Story
Hi all!
I will be running the 2026 NYC Marathon in honor of my grandmother Alice Coakley, supporting the Alzheimer’s Association.
Alice suffered from Alzheimer’s Disease for the last decade of her life. Known for her tight hugs, gentle humor, and secret-recipe-worthy chocolate cookies, Alice led her life through kindness and tenacity. Even at the very end, Alice never lost her caring spirit and warm smile. Upon every trip to her nursing home, she would thank us for the most wonderful visit, even if she would not remember it the next time I saw her. Alice died at 91 and my family still misses her every day.
I run not only for Alice, but for the millions who suffer from dementia, along with the families, doctors, caregivers, and researchers who work tirelessly to support, research, and, ultimately, cure this disease. I am honored to help raise critical funds alongside the Alzheimer's Association and support their ongoing efforts in finding a solution.
With hope, I will be able to apply my brief high school cross country career to my training efforts (accepting any playlist recommendations). Running a marathon has always been a bucket-list item of mine and I look forward to this challenge while raising funds for a cause that means so much to me.
