I'm fundraising for... My Mom
This year, I’ll be running the NYC Marathon in memory of my mom and in support of the Alzheimer’s Association.
My mom was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s at just 54 years old. By the time I turned 16, she had already begun forgetting who I was. Watching someone you love slowly lose their memories, and pieces of themselves is something impossible to fully explain unless you’ve lived it.
In February of 2023, my mom lost her battle to Alzheimer’s, but I carry her with me everyday in everything I do. Running became an outlet for me after her diagnosis — a way to cope, process, and keep moving forward through some of the hardest years of my life. Completing the NYC Marathon has always been a dream of mine, and being able to run it in her memory makes every mile even more meaningful.
I’m raising money for the Alzheimer’s Association to help fund research, support families and caregivers, and fight for a future where no family has to experience this disease the way mine did.
