Tribute Updates
Dad passed peacefully on June 2, 2026 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s
Watching the progression of Alzheimer’s is a deeply humbling experience. It is a devastating disease that gradually changes completely the person we love, testing the strength and endurance of the entire family. Over the recent months, my mother and our family have walked a path that demanded everything we had, and sometimes more than we thought we could manage.
In the midst of this challenge, we were profoundly aware of the immense privilege we held. We were fortunate to have the resources to care for my father at home for as long as possible, keeping him surrounded by love, his own things, and the familiarity of his daily life. When his needs became more than we were able to safely provide, we were further blessed by the compassionate, professional support of the VA and local hospice program. These caregivers supported our mother and father during their most vulnerable moments, and for that, we remain eternally grateful.
We recognize that not every family has access to the level of support we had, and we will carry that perspective with us always. No one should have to navigate this journey alone or without the necessary tools to ensure their loved ones are treated with the dignity they deserve.
As we remember our father, our hearts remain committed to a brighter, more hopeful future, and we pray for a time when Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and all neurological conditions are not only manageable but entirely preventable and curable. Until that day comes, we will continue to honor those like my father and mother who have fought these battles with courage and grace.
