2026 RAK of the Day Fundraiser: Five Years. One Incredible Cause.

💜 NOVEMBER: A MONTH OF LOVE, MEMORY, AND HOPE 💜

November means so much more to me than the start of the holiday season. It’s Herm’s birthday month, and it’s also my month as a RAK Ambassador to raise funds for a cause that is incredibly close to my heart.

This year marks our 5th Annual Fundraiser in honor of my dad, “Pappy Herm,” with 100% of the proceeds going to the Alzheimer’s Association. 💜

My dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in late 2019. For those who may not know, Alzheimer’s is a progressive disease that slowly destroys memory and other important mental functions. But it’s so much more than memory loss. It impacts nearly every aspect of a person’s life and takes an enormous toll on the people who love and care for them.

Anyone who has witnessed or experienced Alzheimer’s firsthand understands that this disease affects far more than the person diagnosed. It impacts entire families, friends, and caregivers who face the challenges of this heartbreaking journey together.

My dad continues to reside at Cedar Grove Assisted Living in Parkersburg, WV, where he receives around-the-clock care. My brother, Pec, visits him often and does everything he can to make sure Dad’s days are filled with comfort, love, and dignity.

I’ve chosen to support the Alzheimer’s Association not only for my dad, but also for every family facing this disease and every family that may face it in the future. There is currently no cure, but that doesn’t mean there never will be. It may not come in time to help my dad, but I hold on to the hope that continued research, awareness, and support will help future generations avoid the pain so many families experience today.

💜 FIVE YEARS. ONE INCREDIBLE CAUSE. $6,500 RAISED! 💜

Thanks to the generosity and support of so many amazing people, we’ve raised an incredible $6,500 over the past four years! I can’t thank everyone enough for helping turn something so personal into an opportunity to make a difference.

Anyone who donates towards the cause will be in a random pool to win some pretty cool prizes. We will also be doing our annual OSU/Michigan board, where 100% of the proceeds go to the Alzheimer's Association! The prizes include signed Ohio State memorabilia, signed photos, and autographed cards!

Now, it’s time for our 5th Annual Scoreboard Fundraiser! 🏈

💜 Benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association

We’ll have some awesome Ohio State memorabilia up for grabs, and every dollar raised will go directly toward our Alzheimer’s Association tribute page.

This year, we’re setting our sights on another successful fundraiser and hope to build on the amazing generosity that has brought us this far. Every donation, no matter the size, helps support families affected by Alzheimer’s, advance critical research, and bring us one step closer to a future without this disease.

If you’re able to donate, it would truly mean the world to me and my family. If donating isn’t possible right now, I completely understand. Times are tough, and there are so many ways to help. A share, a repost, or simply spreading awareness can make a difference, too.

The funds raised through the Alzheimer’s Association help provide care and support for families, advance promising research, and offer a lifeline through its free, 24/7 Helpline at 800-272-3900. No one should have to face Alzheimer’s alone.

I fight for my dad. I fight for my family. And I fight for all the families who know the heartbreak of watching someone they love battle this relentless disease.

💜 A future without Alzheimer’s is possible. Let’s keep fighting until we get there. Together. 💜

Please remember to be kind, cherish the moments you have, and tell your loved ones you love them every chance you get. Life is precious, memories are priceless, and time with the people we love is never something we should take for granted.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your continued support, generosity, and love over these past four years. Let’s make our 5th Annual Fundraiser another special one in honor of Pappy Herm! 💜
