I'm fundraising for a cure in memory of Grandma McEwan
Dear Friends/Family,
For the second year in a row I am excited to be running the New York City Marathon to raise funds and awareness for the Alzheimer’s Association. This cause is incredibly personal to me, as I am running in honor of my beloved Grandma Agnes (Nancy) McEwan, who sadly passed away in her late 70s after battling the devastating disease.
Alzheimer’s is an unforgiving illness that affects not only those diagnosed but also their loved ones. My grandma’s journey was a difficult one, and her care was lovingly provided by my Grandpa Jim McEwan, who dedicated the last few years of his life ensuring she was safe, comfortable, and loved. Their story highlights the importance of finding a cure—one that would save countless families from the pain of loss and the heartbreak of watching a loved one disappear before their eyes.
A cure for Alzheimer’s would not only save lives but also prevent the physical, emotional, and sometimes even verbal abuse that primary caretakers often face. These dedicated caregivers often endure immense stress with little support, yet they continue to show unconditional love and commitment.
By supporting this fundraiser, you’re helping fund research for a cure and standing with us in the fight against Alzheimer’s. Every donation brings us closer to a future where no more families have to face the grief of losing a loved one to this terrible disease.
Thank you for your support, and generosity. Together, we can make a difference.
With gratitude,
Tyler McEwan
