5th Annual MJ Tournament for the ALZ.org - May 16th 2026
My mother Marilyn passed in 2009 from complications from her dementia as well as other factors. She had been in memory care for at least 3 years before passing. Her diagnosis came slowly years before. Her Mom and grandmother also had forms of dementia, along with her cousin who had lewy body dementia. I'm fighting for them and many others in my extended family and friends. We need to stop this terrible disease known as the slow goodbye. I have many passions, one of which is playing and teaching Mah Jongg. It fits perfectly with this cause as playing games and socializing with friends helps exercise the brain muscle. That and fundraising for the cause keeps me busy. I want future generations, including my kids and grandkids, to not have to watch anyone decline and lose their identity. No more long goodbyes!
