Noir at the Bar | Memories & Mysteries

My husband, Lew, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in the summer of 2022. He is a critically acclaimed author of literary fiction and crime fiction, including Mount’s Mistake, The Minus Man, and The 13th Step. His short stories have appeared in Solstice Magazine and Ploughshares. Sadly, Lew can no longer write. His talent, his mastery of words, stolen by this cruel disease.

Lew and I are avid readers of crime fiction, and we are huge fans of Noir at the Bar events. So for our “Do What You Love” event we decided to organize a Memories & Mysteries Noir at the Bar Fundraiser, replete with author readings, raffle prizes, and an online auction! Our goal is to raise awareness and funds for the Alzheimer’s Association . . . and have fun in the process! 

Research is critical. Early detection and interventions are critical. Access to trials is critical. The first survivor of Alzheimer’s is out there, but we won’t get there without your support. 

Noir at the Bar: Memories & Mysteries will take place at BARaMOR in Newton Centre on April 15, 2026.
