New plans

Saturday 4th Apr
2026 will mark the 2nd year I have participated in raising money for the Alzheimer's Association.  My plan is to do a combination of walking and HIIT (high intensity Interval training). April to May will be walking an extra 50 miles and then May to June will be the HIIT.

The US Pointer Study demonstrated that 30-35 minutes of moderate-to-intense aerobic activity four times a week, plus strength and flexibility exercises twice a week had a greater benefit on global cognition.

I know that I carry at least on copy of the APOE4 allele which can put me at higher risk of developing AD. That being said, I want to try to mitigate the risk factors that are in my control.

Watching a loved one, or anyone, with this disease is heartbreaking, and we as a society need to fight this disease.
