Route 66 UltraRun To End ALZ - for Mace

Once again are Doing What We Love – creating the most epic ultrarunning race on the planet – as a fundraising event to support the Alzheimer's Association. And once again we will donate a percentage of each registration to help End ALZ! Here’s information about our event and how you can help.

The fifth annual Route 66 UltraRun will celebrate the 100th anniversary of The Mother Road. Individual runners and relay teams will journey 140 miles through iconic Americana along Historic Route 66 November 14 -16, 2026 from Seligman to Topock66 Colorado River in Arizona. In honor of the Centennial we are offering a new 100 mile distance on the same dates from Peach Springs to Topock66 that is open to individual runners and relay teams.

Our true inspiration is always and forever Stray Dog Mark ‘Mace’ Macy and his wife Pam. Mace was diagnosed with early onset ALZ in late 2018, but still participated in an adventure race in Fiji*, cheered runners at Leadville and on Route 66, walked his youngest daughter down the aisle, renewed his own wedding vows with his beloved Pammy, traveled, showered his kids and grandkids with love, enjoyed running repeats, and spent time with family and friends, always asking how they were while keeping a smile on his face.

While Mace and his family, by blood and by choice, continue the good fight, in mid-March 2026 Mace moved into a memory care facility. Such is the painful progression of this horrible disease. Our hearts break that Mace will not be able to on the Route in 2026, but his spirit will be with all of us throughout the event.
