At first, it was the little things…. Missed appointments, forgetting to pay the gas bill here
and there. Then came not remembering how to get to our favorite restaurant, difficulty
following a conversation, repeating things and the anxious look. Alzheimer’s disease
affects memory, thinking, and behavior. Almost two thirds of Alzheimer’s patients are women.

Many of us have a loved one, friend, acquaintance, or even caregivers to those who are
battling Alzheimer’s. While there is no cure yet, we can act by supporting research in
earlier diagnosis for this goal to stop, slow and prevent the disease.

For many years my husband and I have supported the Alzheimer’s Association for their
valuable and endless determination to eradicate this horrible disease. It is for this
reason that I am writing this email to express my deep desire to continue my support.

How? One of the national events the association supports throughout the year is called
DO WHAT YOU LOVE whereby you can participate in any sporting event, game day,
baking sale etc. 
So, we will be supporting this initiative by organizing a GAME DAY (American mahjong; Chinese mahjong; bridge; canaster and rummy just to name a few) where participants
can register for a minimum donation of $50.00 per person or $200 per table of 4.

However, no worries if you don’t play. You can still support my cause and donate to the
Alzheimer's Association website so they can continue their relentless work for research, care and support.
I urge you to please remember those who have been touched by this disease or are
undergoing a fierce battle with it. Please share this email with your family, friends and
business associates. All donations on the Alzheimer's Association website are tax deductible.
