Getting Over the Hump for Alzheimer’s
On January 31st, I’ll be competing in the Camel’s Hump Ski Challenge in Huntington, Vermont. The Challenge Trail is a 15-mile backcountry loop that circumnavigates Camel’s Hump—the state’s third-tallest peak at 4,083 feet—keeping skiers between 1,200 and 2,900 feet of elevation.
My goal is simple: create awareness, raise funds, and finish in under 6 hours.
Today, more than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease—and that number is projected to nearly double by 2050. This is not just a medical issue; it’s a growing crisis that affects families, communities, and our future.
When the mind is compromised, the ripple effect touches everything: safety, relationships, independence, and quality of life.
That’s why I’m skiing this challenge.
I’m raising support for the Alzheimer’s Association to help increase awareness of prevention steps, expand access to education and resources for families, and push toward better treatments—and ultimately, a cure.
Thank you for your consideration and for supporting the fight against a disease that affects far too many of us.
