Camel’s Hump Ski Challenge – Why I’m Doing This
On January 31st, I’ll be competing in the Camel’s Hump Ski Challenge in Huntington, Vermont — not just for the adventure, but for a mission that hits close to home.
I’ve watched my mother move through dementia, and I’ve learned firsthand how brutal and unforgiving this disease can be. It steals memories, independence, connection — and it puts an enormous weight on families and caregivers. No one is prepared for it until they’re living it.
I work every day helping people get and keep their disability benefits, but Alzheimer’s and dementia are a different kind of knockout punch. When your mind goes, the ripple effect hits everything: your safety, your relationships, your ability to stay in life.
That’s why I’m skiing this challenge.
I’m raising support for the Alzheimer’s Association so more families can get the help, education, and resources they desperately need — and so we can push toward prevention, better treatments, and ultimately a cure.
If you’re able, I’d be grateful for your support.
Your contribution goes directly to the Alzheimer’s Association Vermont Chapter to provide free programs, support groups, and services for patients, caregivers, and communities across our state.
Thank you for standing with me — and for helping fight a disease that affects far too many of us.
Brian
