Hello, my name is John Reed and I volunteer with The First Tee and Alzheimer’s Association. My wife Margie passed away in 2023 from Alzheimer’s and I wanted to find a way to honor her in the future and support these two worthy organizations. Last May we held the First Annual Margie Reed Memorial Golf Outing. Then and now people ask, “what could these two organizations have in common or what is the connection”? Well, I am glad to asked! The answer is Golf. It is a game that young and old can play all their lives and will teach everyone valuable life lessons for a more fulfilling, peaceful and productive life.
Both organizations are helping their communities learn positive life lessons to better cope with frustrations and rewards of a golf game, the many challenges we face every day or with the challenges of Alzheimer’s disease. This is the story of why we are inviting you, young or “more seasoned” to support the 2026 Margie Reed Memorial Golf Outing on May 8th at The Legacy Golf Course.
