My Updates

Loops for Love

Wednesday 22nd Oct
For Valentine's Day, 2026 I will be participating in a knit and crochet-athon to raise awareness and critical funding for the Alzheimer's Association through my local Washington State Chapter. Your support is greatly appreciated as the need for research rises to historic highs. Today in Washington State alone, 1 in 9 people over the age of 65, over 10% of all those over 65, live with Alzheimer's or other dementias. That's over 126,00 people in Washington.

I have had the privilege of working in memory care units in my career in geriatrics and am currently pursuing my first degree from Everett Community College in arts and sciences to renter the field. I am passionate about this cause because of the many wonderful people I have had the pleasure of getting to know through my time in the field, and my great-grandmother, Thelma Ramsey, who passed living with dementia.

I have chosen to partake in knit and crochet as the key to my fundraising efforts not only because I am passionate about fiber arts, but also to honor the many individuals of older generations which have secured the advancement of the art by teaching new generations with patience, kindness and love. The fiber arts community owes these generations many thanks for sharing their techniques, knowledge and passion.

With Loops for Love I aim to raise funds and community awareness by engaging with fellow artists, college clubs, the Stanwood Community Resource Center and local businesses.

Thank you for your consideration in supporting this vital cause!
