Tuesday 31st Mar I am honoring my family members that have lost their battle to ALZ.. All loved nature and family. So, I will be hiking in their honor to help raise funds for ALZ research and education.In October we lost my FIL, Wayne to ALZ. I was fortunate enough to continue to connect with Wayne during his battle even though he couldnt tell you who I was. He knew I was related in some way. . Wayne unfortunately, but maybe fortunately declined in his later stages in just 10 short months. I was blessed to be the one that could help calm him when he was confused or anxious. He always had a smile for me and his favorite fur baby, Maggie.
Neil's Gram also passed from ALZ. Although, I didnt know her well, I know she was the matriarch of the family. Neil has so many fond memories of spending weekends with his grandparents.
My Grammie and Aunt Penny also passed from ALZ. Grammie was a strong Vermont woman who raised an amazing family. She loved the farm and being with family.
Aunt Penny was a walking Audubon book. She knew every flower, bird, rock, etc. She is who took me on my first "real" hike that instilled a love and peace in being in nature.
My Aunt Weezie was the most wonderful person one could know. She was there for me always. She encouraged, supported, and loved unconditionally.
