I'm fundraising for...
Hello friends and family,
This winter, I’ll be taking on the Camel’s Hump Challenge for the sixth year, alongside a wonderful group of women who inspire me every step of the way. Together, we are “I Have Mountains to Climb,” and we’re gearing up once again to ski around the perimeter of Camel’s Hump—Vermont’s 4,083-foot, third-highest peak—in a demanding backcountry route that’s beautiful and humbling.
For those unfamiliar, the Camel’s Hump Challenge is a rigorous wilderness ski tour that brings spirited Nordic skiers into the heart of Vermont’s backcountry to raise critical funds and awareness for Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia. Originally founded by the late Dr. Warren Beeken, the Challenge directly supports the Alzheimer’s Association, Vermont Chapter, helping fund the free programs, services, and education they provide to families navigating this devastating illness.
Our team skis for many reasons:
• The camaraderie and support we find in each other
• The exhilaration of taking on a true wilderness challenge
• The unmatched beauty of this terrain
• And most of all, the deep sense of loss that accompanies this horrible disease, which touches so many families—including loved ones and those we ski alongside
If you’re able, please consider making a donation to support our effort. Every contribution—large or small—helps the Alzheimer’s Association continue offering guidance, education, and hope to individuals and caregivers across Vermont who need it most.
Thank you for supporting us, cheering us on, and believing in this cause. We truly have mountains to climb—and your support helps us take every step. Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer’s disease!
With gratitude,
Lisa
