Why I’m Participating in The Real Estate Rumble for Alzheimer’s

This year, Team Next Step Realty is once again participating in The Real Estate Rumble in support of the Alzheimer’s Association and the fight to end Alzheimer’s and dementia.

The event brings together brokerages and real estate professionals from across our community for a day of fundraising, teamwork, and friendly competition, all centered around a mission that impacts so many families, including mine.

I’m participating in honor of my grandmother, Ruth “Grandma” Grant.

Grandma lived an incredible 90 years. She was married to my grandfather for over 70 years, raised four daughters, and became the heart of a growing family filled with grandchildren and great-grandchildren who adored her.

She was one of my biggest supporters growing up. She introduced me to golf, encouraged me endlessly, and never missed an opportunity to cheer on her family. Even through life’s toughest challenges, including two battles with cancer, a heart attack, and eventually Alzheimer’s and dementia, she carried herself with resilience, grace, and a smile.

Like so many families, we watched Alzheimer’s slowly take pieces of someone we loved deeply. It’s a disease that affects not only the individual but also the entire family surrounding them.

That’s why this cause matters so much to me.

On The Longest Day, held each year on the Summer Solstice, people across the country come together to raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. Every dollar raised helps families navigating this disease today while supporting the search for better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.

I’m incredibly proud of Team Next Step Realty for stepping up and grateful to be part of a real estate community that consistently shows up for causes bigger than ourselves.
