This Birthday Is for My Mom
Over the past few years, I’ve watched dementia slowly change my mom and, in many ways, change our entire family along with it. It’s a disease that takes so much, not only from the person living with it, but from everyone who loves and cares for them.
So this year, instead of asking for anything for my birthday, I wanted to do something in honor of my mom.
I’m raising money to support dementia research and families affected by this disease. If you’d like to honor my birthday, I’d be so grateful if you considered making a donation instead of sending a gift.
There is so much about this journey that I wish my family never had to learn firsthand. My hope is that one day, fewer families will have to.
