Why I Fight the Darkness of Dementia

This year marks 11 years since Grandma passed away and over 20 years since her diagnosis. And my experiences caring for and loving someone who is slowly slipping away still affect my thoughts, feelings, and decision making every single day. My fight is not slowing down or fading away. Now more than ever I want my community to rally with me to see real progress; in hope that my parents generation and mine won't suffer 'the long goodbye' of dementia.
