Every Lift Has a Purpose

My name is Bob Moore, and I’m proud to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of two extraordinary women: my mother, Nancy Moore, and my mother-in-law, Dolores Dube.

Both women devoted their lives to their families and communities. Both ultimately faced the devastating effects of dementia. Watching them struggle inspired my commitment to helping fight Alzheimer’s and all forms of dementia.

That fight has become connected to another passion of mine: the sport of powerlifting. Now, every training session, competition and lift has a greater purpose. This May, I won the Powerlifting America U.S. Masters National Championship and earned a place on Team USA for the IPF World Championships being held in Reno this fall.

I’ll be competing for a gold medal—and lifting for Nancy, for Dolores, and for every family affected by this disease.
