Why We Do What We Love to End ALZ
I want to share a personal and profound reason behind our commitment to the Alzheimer's Association’s Do What You Love to End ALZ. For many of us, this event is a powerful symbol of hope, solidarity, and the relentless pursuit of a world without Alzheimer's disease.
Alzheimer’s has touched countless lives, including those of our residents, their families, and our communities. It’s a disease that doesn’t discriminate; it affects people from all walks of life. I’ve seen firsthand how it can alter the lives of individuals and their loved ones, transforming vibrant, active people into shadows of their former selves.
Our participation in Do What You Love to End ALZ is driven by a deep sense of responsibility and empathy. It’s a chance for us to stand together, united in our mission to fight against this debilitating condition. Each step we take represents our collective effort to advance research, support caregivers, and advocate for those affected by Alzheimer’s.
But why do we, as a company, invest our time, energy, and resources into this cause? Here’s why:
- Commitment to Community: We believe in the strength of community and the importance of standing by those who are facing significant challenges. By participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer's, we demonstrate our commitment to our residents, their families, and the wider community. It’s about being present and showing that we care.
- Aligning with Our Mission: Our mission is to provide caring environments that foster healthiness, safety, and a high quality of life for every resident. Participating in the walk aligns with our core values and reinforces our dedication to enhancing the lives of those we serve.
- Driving Progress through Advocacy: Alzheimer’s research needs resources and support. By walking and fundraising, we contribute to critical research efforts that bring us closer to finding a cure. Our participation is a way to advocate for increased funding and to support the scientists and researchers working tirelessly to defeat this disease.
- Honoring Personal Stories: Many of us have personal stories of loved ones affected by Alzheimer’s. Walking is our way of honoring their memory, acknowledging their struggles, and ensuring that their experiences inspire our actions. It’s a heartfelt gesture that connects us all on a deeply personal level.
- Creating a Legacy of Change: Finally, we participate because we want to be part of a legacy of change. We envision a future where Alzheimer's is no longer a devastating diagnosis but a challenge that has been met with resolve, innovation, and compassion. Our efforts today are steps towards that future.
As we gear up in our purple, we do so with pride and purpose. Thank you for joining us in this important cause and for supporting our shared vision of a future without Alzheimer's.
Together, we can make a difference. Together, we do what we love to end ALZ.
Sincerely,
