Our Story Our Mom's - Stitched With Love for Alzheimer’s

Thursday 12th Mar

This beautiful quilt was lovingly created by Mary in honor of her mother, Marjorie Gosney, who was diagnosed with dementia at age 75. Marjorie lived with Alzheimer’s for eight years and passed away at 83.

Mary shares that the Alzheimer’s journey was the hardest thing her family had ever been through. Yet through the heartbreak, they were grateful for the time they had to care for her and walk beside her with love. Mary’s sister Nina played a special role, providing devoted care throughout those years.

This story resonates deeply with Shannon Calles, founder of Clark County Senior Resources, who also walked the dementia journey with her own mother.

Shannon’s mother Linda was diagnosed with dementia about three years before she passed away in 2006 from COPD and dementia. The final year was especially difficult for Shannon and her brother as they cared for their mother and navigated the emotional realities of the disease.

This quilt represents more than fabric and thread.
It represents love, memory, caregiving, and the strength of families facing Alzheimer’s together.

All proceeds from this fundraiser will support the mission of the Alzheimer’s Association, helping fund research, education, and support for families living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.

💜 Every stitch tells a story. Every donation helps families still walking this journey.
