Mildred Main is 93 now, but when I was a child, she was the most vibrant person I knew. About seven years ago, Alzheimer's began to take hold. Yet, before that, she was an incredible grandmother and great-grandmother-the heart of our family, especially during the holidays. Her home was always filled with the warmth of her cooking, the smell of something baking, and her signature touch of making everything just right. She was a perfectionist in the most loving way, a sentimental grandmother who poured her heart into every detail.

She was always there with a warm hug, a home-cooked meal, and a watchful eye as she cared for my kids-her great-grandchildren. She adored cooking, and every bite of her meals was filled with love. And her garden-it was a wonder. She grew roses, flowers, and vegetables, each bed thriving with care.

Now, for the past three years, she's been in a care facility, and it breaks my heart that she no longer remembers those things. But even now, I feel her love in every bloom, every recipe, every cherished memory we shared.
