This year, Everly is fundraising in honor of her Great Papa, Great Nana, and her beloved Nanu, who recently passed away from frontotemporal dementia (FTD).
To support the Alzheimer's Association, Everly is hosting a Lemonade & Treats Summer Party this Sunday, June 14, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome! She has been hard at work making fresh lemonade and baking cookies for her stand, and she can't wait to share them with you.
As Everly watched her Nanu change because of dementia, we've been teaching her about Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia in age-appropriate ways. We keep his memory alive by looking through old photos and talking about the things he loved most. One of Everly's most treasured possessions is the baby blanket he knitted for her when she was born. In his honor, she's learning to sew this summer, and as a special thank you for your support, we would be happy to send you one of her handmade creations.
Everly has been fundraising for the Alzheimer's Association since she was born, while also learning the importance of keeping her brain healthy. We fundraise in hopes of a future where Everly and other children don't have to worry about these diseases or experience the heartbreak of watching someone they love slowly lose parts of what makes them who they are.
