Dancing Through Time: A Fairytale Prom Experience
Friday 10th AprHello everyone 💜
I’m fundraising for my residents so we can give them a Fairytale Prom. Why a fairytale prom? Because it’s more than just an event it’s a chance to give them a truly magical night.
We are collaborating with another facility so our seniors can come together, socialize, and enjoy a night out. It’s an opportunity for them to feel young again, to step away from their daily routines, and simply have fun. This won’t just be special for the residents, but also for the families and friends who come out to support them and show them love. These will be moments captured in pictures memories they can hold onto forever.
With Alzheimer’s, everyone is at different stages. Some may remember yesterday, some last week, and some may not remember much at all. But in that moment, during that night, what matters is that they feel joy. They’ll feel the love, the laughter, and the happiness of being surrounded by the people they care about. For that moment, they get to feel present, alive, and free from the feeling of being stuck in time.
That’s what I want to give them not just a prom, but a gift. A chance to move time forward, even if it’s just for one day.
We’re going all out hair, nails, makeup, fresh haircuts, getting dressed up just like a real senior prom. Because they deserve to feel special, celebrated, and beautiful.
I truly love my residents, and I want to give them a day they will never forget. 💜
