The END Alzheimer's Car Show - Ronnie's Testimony

I began my journey with the Alzheimer's Association when my best friend told me he did not know who I was. I had known this man for over 50 years. We had done a lot together, went to hundreds of stock car races and sold Goodyear racing tires together. He was a unique person and was always doing for others. He had been on over a 100 mission trips with the Brethren Church to rebuild homes that had been damaged from floods or other types of disasters.

 

I have been lucky in my life that none of my close family had Alzheimer's or Dementia. I cannot imagine one of my parents telling me that they do not know who I am or having to take care of them with them not being able to carry on a conversation or even talk to you. 

 

One of the worst things from my perspective is people work their whole life to get financially secure and then have to pay for a nursing home or in home care and not be able to enjoy their final years. 

 

Alzheimer's is a terrible disease for anyone to have to endure. I am raising money for the Alzheimer's Association hoping that someday there will be a cure or a way to prevent this awful disease. Maybe not in my lifetime but in the very near future.
